The Melaka Zoo

Daddy has 2 weeks off before he starts his new job. We were supposed to visit the rabbits at Bukit Tinggi and the animals at the Melaka Zoo. Due to unforseen circumstances, we only went to the Zoo. It was a one-day trip.

When we arrived at the Zoo, it rained very heavily. We sat and waited at the tramp station for about an hour before the rain finally stopped. Whilst we were waiting, I could see the zebras and the ponies from afar. I kept calling out to the ponies, "Oooh... oooh, pony! Pony!". So that was one of the first animals I went to see there...

Hello pony!! Nice to meet you!... Oh, please don't come too close...

Yes, Daddy. I am happy. Let's go see more animals!

I noticed that there are many deers in this zoo. In the Zoo Negara, there are many monkeys...

Look! Deers again...

One of my favourite animals is the bear...

But what I really wanted to see was the elephant!!!

Finally, I saw the elephants. It was almost at the end of the route...

Waaah, the elephants are so big! Can we have a closer look?

Despite the weather and the mosquitoes, I think I enjoyed this trip more than the one to the National Zoo (when I was about 14 months old) because I am older now and I can appreciate and identify the animals better. I'm sure we'll visit the zoo again. Maybe I'll get to go on an elephant ride the next time...

A Trip to IKEA

We went to IKEA today. Here are some pictures taken there...

We were there to buy this (see picture below). Daddy put it together and placed it in the living room. As you can see, it is already all filled up and covered with toys...

Singing the ABC (Take 2 & 3)

I can sing... seriously... Watch me put on my serious face and tone when singing the ABCs... watch out for the bubble effects too. Hahaha...

Snuggles

I love snuggling in Daddy's arms. Whenever Daddy is angry with me for doing something naughty, I will snuggle up to him and plead for forgiveness. I know how to melt Daddy's heart...

Beary Long Sentence

Daddy asked me who bought me the white bear and I responded by saying "Auntie Lilian buy bear-bear for Leanne!". He was quite surprised that I formed a more than a 2 or 3-word sentence in my reply. So Mommy quickly went to get her camera to record it again. So here's the video...

Fun with Clothes Pegs

I like playing with clothes pegs. I can form interesting shapes with it...

TAI !! (LOOK!!) This is what I say whenever I want Mommy to see what I have done (and praise me)...

To Poo or Sleep

I kept telling Mommy that I wanted to mm-mm (poo-poo) in the potty. So she brought me the potty. However, I also I wanted to ngoi-ngoi (sleep) too. So how??

Like this loh...

Mommy was shaking her head when she was taking this picture. Like this also can ah? Hahaha...

Alphabets and Numbers Pasta

Lily-yee-yee bought me a packet of alphabet and numbers pasta. So Mommy decided to cook some for me today. At first, she overcooked it and it was too soft and was sticking together like a big lump. When it was cooked just right, she served it to me with some anchovies soup. I was quite fascinated when Mommy pointed out that they were alphabet and numbers shaped pasta. But nowadays, I am just not very adventurous in trying new kinds of food. I took a few spoonful but only finished the soup in the end. Mommy had to let out a big sigh again!

The Supergirl

Mommy just can't stop me from trying to act as if I were a supergirl. I would climb up and down the sofa, chairs, stairs or bed without any worry that I might fall and hurt myself. Recently, I love to raise my legs up behind me when on the sofa or the bed. No matter how many times Mommy or Daddy has warned me against it, I would still do it.

Look! I am flying... I am Supergirl...

Hehe, I can stay like this forever...

Don't worry lah...

Putting Two Pairs of Pants On

Here's me trying to put on a pair of long pants when I was already wearing a pair of short pants...

Cousin Pei Qi

We went to visit my cousin Pei Qi and her parents this morning, in Bangsar. They were back for a wedding and this was the only time we could meet each other before their return to Australia...

Relaxing on Mommy's lap whilst enjoying a chocolate as cousin Pei Qi looked on whilst eating a mini croissant.

It's been about 6 months since we last saw each other. How much we have changed! I think we are quite different. She loves food, I don't. I love to play. She is a cheerful girl, I am not. I am a crypot. I kept crying before and whenever the camera flashed. I disliked having my picture taken...

Left photo: Pei Qi making another attempt at the food served whilst I was busy playing with her toy. Right photo: Me crying and making a scene when our photo was taken.

Playing Football with Daddy

I didn't have a good afternoon nap. I was rudely awaken by some noise and couldn't go back to sleep. So Daddy played football with me to cheer me up. I was happy at first but became cranky again after a while. I was not appropriately dressed for the 'game'. I was still in my 'Sunday dress' but who cares...

23 Months Old

Today, I am 23 months old! How time flies! I am almost two years old...

NEW DEVELOPMENTS (since I was 22 months old):

1. I am learning how to sing a few songs such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (I can sing all the lines quite well now), Baa Baa Black Sheep (I can sing the first four lines quite well), Ding Dong Bell and the ABCs (still working on the letters between "L" and "O" and saying the letter "W" correctly).

2. I whine a lot whenever I don't get my way or have what I want.

3. I like to stack things up, besides arranging them in a row. (see Leanne's Tower).

4. I went to the seaside for the first time (see Sandcastles and Seawater).

5. I have stopped using the pacifier since Sept 14th. YEAY!!

6. I finally did a shh-shh in the potty but only twice.

7. I love the 'Monkey song'.

8. I went swimming for the first time (see Swimming at the Palace).

9. I think I like eggs. I said 'I think' because sometimes I would eat it all when served, yet sometimes I would spit it out...

10. I like to repeat almost every word which Mommy or Daddy says, whenever they are talking between themselves or to me.

11. I like to do things myself. For example, I like to feed myself, put on my pants or shoes without help. But I have not really prefected any of these actions yet. I still make a lot of mess when I eat and I still can't put on my pants without Mommy's help.

A Good Host & Gifts

Poh-poh came to visit and I played a pretty good host entertaining her. I showed her all my toys, how I solve a jigsaw puzzle and also played football with her!!

I received gifts. I have a new shirt with matching pants, a whale and a doll (which I shall call "Baby Blue").

I like my whale and doll. Thank you, Poh-poh...

Singing the ABC (Take 1)

Here's me trying to sing the ABC song again after learning it some time last month. I can sing almost all the letters, except "W". Also, sometimes I like to skip the letters "M" and "N".

Ding, Dong, Bell (Take 1)

Here's me trying to sing "Ding, Dong, Bell"... my recent favourite... I have been pestering Mommy to teach me this song and still trying to learn all the words...

video

Baa, Baa, Black Sheep (Take 1)

I can't really sing every line well yet but I do try. Also, sometimes I like to change the "Baa, baa" to "Maa, Maa". Hahaha...

Back to Basics

Not long ago, I would willingly sleep in my 'new bed' (mattress on the floor). I am not sure what happened, but I slowly moved up to Mommy and Daddy's bed.

There is almost always a mosquito in the room. I had so many bites. So in the end, Mommy decided to put me back in my playpen to sleep under a mosquito net till she finds a better solution.

Look at how much I have grown. I am almost as tall as the length of my playpen now.
